I want to try to submit myself to some agency to see what happens. I'm in San Francisco and was tired of doing student films(And many of them didn't even finish post production) and self submitting via sfcasting where you can see very limited film/TV opportunity. Which agency is best for film actors in SF?

Good day/evening! I wanted to pop in and introduce myself. My name is Kellie VonBank and I am finally taking a couple steps towards fulfilling life long interests. I'm 41 years old and haven't done anything in front of a camera for production since 1995. Any tips, suggestions, or advice on how to get my foot in a door,…

Is there a list floating about for NY agencies? I know there's one for LA that has them sorted into "tiers". I just moved to NY from LA, and a list like that would be extremely helpful. Thanks!

Recently I read an article about the differentiation between the styles of acting and how the deviation from Stanislavsky’s original is all it is (Hagen, Adler, Meisner). In your opinion, what do you see as the differences between the styles? As a new actor to LA, I’ve had a rough time figuring out which to pursue, so…

This is one of the things I wanted to talk about. I remember as a kid, every time I watch a film, I thought to myself, "Wow, I want to be an actor in the future". I had dreams of going to Hollywood and become a famous actor. Now, at the age of 21, I began to take acting classes and films seriously and that dream of bei…

when i watch monologues or theatre i feel incredibly inspired and almost in awe of many actors. But when I think about doing it myself I feel like it's just silly. This is holding me back incredibly from acting, i've recently began. To add, I've been in a creative rut for years now, I'm only 25 and want to move forward…

When two actors in a movie/show have a love interest but one of the actors are over 18 and you want to audition for the other love interest role but you are under 18. Is it still possible to get the role? Sorry if this didn't make sense, it's hard to explain.

I previously took a meisner intensive with Michelle Danner, and a month of Ivanna Chubbucks class. My agent is really pushing for me to take an audition and scene study class, so do my fellow actors in LA have any solid recommendations for studios that are NOT money suckers hahaha?

Hello everyone, A buddy of mine is an actor who gets gigs here and there in the surrounding areas of where I live. He stated for me to get started into acting I needed headshots and agents, but first the headshots. So I've completed the headshots part, I've got a solid 10 photos to start with, and including a comp card…

I'm interested in knowing if most professional actors here work part-time jobs outside of acting? If you're full-time, how long did it take to get there? If you're part-time, what do you guys do outside of acting?

Howdy guys, I’ve recently moved to LA to pursue acting after a stint in private equity and I’m at a crossroads. When I first got to LA I took classes at Michelle Danner studios and then at Ivana Chubbuck. While they were okay, these classes seemed to me like money suckers, only attracting many international students wh…

So, I’m a young actress just trying to make myself a reel, but I feel like I’m making it much harder than it actually is. I have TV credits with Chicago Fire & NBC’s Crisis along with a couple commercials. However, I was only able to get my episodes of these TV shows from iTunes and every single program I’ve been using…

The other night, my parents told me that I should give up on acting. I've been doing it for nearly ten years and it is the only thing I have ever done and love. Hey y’all, a technique I’ve had some training in is Laban. It’s been very useful to me as an actor that can have trouble with emotional availability, and it’s pretty diversely applicable. I'm directing a play/theater production at my college and have run into a dilemma. Stand ups and improvisers can get on stage every night and do a show but actors have to prepare more and shows don't seem as immediate. Auditions? Classes? Small theater?

First off, I have the utmost respect for actors; it’s a tough craft and it looks easy until it’s painfully obvious someone that someone can’t act. Why do I want to take acting classes?
