I have the daily breakdowns of what’s casting in NY/LA. This is the breakdowns that agents and managers see. It’s looks like actors access.. but the good stuff that we can’t see. How would you benefit from this? It helps you see what casting agencies are casting RIGHT NOW and not down the road. At that point you can st…

This is going to be a long post but I’ll put a TL:DR at bottom I want to start off by saying you and I are one in the same. I am now 27 years old and I used to browse this sub when I was around 19-20 years old. Never acted a day in my life, but I thoroughly enjoyed browsing this sub thinking “what if?” I grew up poor;…

Hey. I have recently been invited to a casting for a short-movie. The casting director, however, said that I didn't need to prepare any text-material beforehand, as the casting would consist of some activities between us (the actors, there would be six of us for two roles in the room at the same time, as the casting di…

By that I mean, is there some quality that separates those who "make it" and those who never quite get there? From the actors I've all worked with so far, it actually seems like they're all similarly driven by a love of the craft, with those in higher-up positions just being a bit more "chill" about working, I'd say. W…

How do you know if you're ready for either? What would be the benefit of UPTAS over grad school? I'm in my late 30s. I finally decided to start focusing on training a few years ago. I originally wanted to go to grad school, but I never stopped to first understand what an actor is and does artistically, so I decided to…

I've read that unlike in other industries, successful actors do not help struggling ones, because acting jobs are so limited and the industry so oversaturated that they would risk directly harming their own careers. Is this true, and does that extend to this subreddit? A note: I'm reminded of \[this episode of…

Hi all, My boyfriend and I are actors living in Sydney. He's fairly well known in the scene (in that he's at that point where people call him up to be in productions, not the other way around - I don't think he's had to audition for something in years), but he's found he's stagnating - the pay just isn't much…

So I know eye contact is essential in acting but should you make eye contact as if the panel is the other “actor” you are talking to on stage?
