I live in a secondary market (Not NY/LA/ATL). Does SAG have a quota, where if a movie shoots here, they are required to audition a certain number of SAG actors? I've heard there is from some people but would like a confirmation since I'm having a hard time getting a direct answer from my local rep. The reason I ask thi…

I'm new to this acting thing so just bare with me, but I'm just looking for some guidance and information; what's a good way to start in becomin…

1. I plan on staying in New Orleans over the summer, for the sole purpose of acting. I got an agent last week, so I have that going for me. But in general, is there a lot of film work in the summer in New Orleans? Or is it pretty quiet here in the summer. 2. Would it be smart or stupid to get representation from an age…

Hi community. I wonder if some of you could help me out. Part of the reason for using this site, as well as other forms of social media, is to network and get our brand out there. Regarding branding, could any of you that have a spare moment take a look at some of my headshots and tell me what you see. Not so much if t…

Hey there! For a research regarding the voice over industry in the US and Canada, we, three student consultants from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, are trying to get more insights in both the online and offline side of the voice over market. To get those insights, it would be very helpful if voice agen…

hey you guys, This past month I was accepted into Northwestern's theatre program and Fordham's. AND I DO NOT KNOW WHERE TO GO. Everywhere I look, Northwestern's theatre program is ranked as one of the top five in the country. Fordham's is much lower ranked. But when I look at alumni, many more successful actors have co…

My school's troupe is doing AMSND, and I auditioned primarily for Nick Bottom, with Oby and a few others as safety nets. The directors, who are great people, but not great directors, decided to give Bottom to the most masculine, least flamboyant young man in the troupe. They gave Mr. badass king to me. Now, the actor p…

So I hear different theories from actors and agents, but does social media following really determine if you book roles? And if so, all of us on here should be following others, so we can build a network and following.

Hi VO Actors! I recently signed with a VO agent and he would like me to record a commercial demo for my website/casting directors. He recommended me to Demos That Rock, which sounds like a personalized process with fabulous results, however the price tag is slightly more than I would like to pay. I wanted to get the op…

Good evening, going straight to the point since I don't want to waste no one's time. I've always wanted to become an actor, sadly I never got to experience it because growing up I never really bothered to try theater clubs (because stupid reasons) and there weren't any "acting classes" anyway. However it is my "dream j…

Hey, So I already have some training (not great) but know the basics of acting. I already finished improv at UCB including advanced study but I need to figure some acting kinks out, knock off the rustness and stiffness, and get out of my head and be more relaxed and in the moment. I heard I should take Meisner but then…

Hey everyone. I'm a foreign actor and recently moved to the USA. Since arriving, I wrote and produced a short comedy satirizing the endless ANDROID vs IPHONE debate.
